I first started ‘Picking’ in 2018 after stumbling upon some antique parking meters. After that I was hooked! A few weekends of traveling and searching different antique stores, malls and collectors and I knew this was my passion. In the coming weeks I would start researching,reading and basically learning everything I could about the antiques I was interested in. After a few weeks of researching it was time to hit the road.

Naturally I started near my home, and hometown of Tallahassee, FL. This didn’t provide me with the selection or caliber of product I was looking for so I soon started planning weekend trips all over. First it was nearby places like Orlando, Jacksonville or Panama City. Before long I was venturing further and further out to towns like Nashville, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Tampa and more.

After a few of these trips I quickly realized I had an ‘eye for antiques’ as shop owners commented. I already loved buying antique items but selling some of them would really give my hobby an opportunity to blossom and provide a collection of items curated with the modern collector in mind. Thinking a traditional antique store would not provide the free time and opportunity to travel that I wanted nor the opportunity to keep inventory fresh and exciting so I decided to go with an On-line model. Although not usually seen in the antique world I believe it is a great way to show the inventory to as many people as possible and that’s where Capital Pickers was born!

All pieces shown are offered for sale to anyone or for rent to our pre-approved studios. For large prop rentals please contact props@capitalpickers.com. If you don’t see something here that doesn’t mean we don’t have it or can’t get it, please feel free to inquire about custom orders or picks.

Taking and rescuing old, often forgotten antiques so that they can be enjoyed by many generations to come is the most fulfilling experience I could imagine. It has given me an opportunity to fulfill my dream of traveling (8 states so far) and owning and running my own business. I greatly appreciate everyone reading this, thank you for your support.
